About me
Hola, I’m Milena! I started traveling to heal my inner child. I was born in Santiago, Chile and I immigrated to the United States at the age of 10. Growing up in Los Angeles, California, I faced the challenges of being low-income and undocumented, yet I dreamed of seeing the world and embarking on grand adventures. In my early 20s, I struggled financially and mentally. But the moment I could afford therapy and traveling, I embraced both—and I haven’t looked back since.
Traveling has been transformative in my journey of self-discovery. It has helped me heal my inner child and learn to live by my own rules rather than the expectations of others. Each adventure allows me to fulfill the dreams of my 15-year-old self, a girl who longed to explore the world but couldn’t because of social, economic, and immigration barriers.
More importantly, traveling pushes me to step out of my comfort zone and lean into growth. With every trip, every moment of discomfort, and every discovery, a small part of me heals.
This blog is my therapeutic outlet—a space for me to express, discover, and heal. I’ve dealt with anxiety, depression, and perfectionism rooted in past trauma, and this platform represents my effort to break the cycle and grow.
But it’s not just about me. I want this blog to be a beacon of hope for others who find themselves in similar circumstances. Healing is possible, and through travel, self-reflection, and courage, we can find ways to mend and thrive.
So, join me on my adventures as I explore this beautiful world while working to heal and rediscover myself.
Chao Chao,
Milena
